Best of South Korea

Earlier this year, I got to experience first hand South Korea with G Adventures, and what an experience it was.  

Over eight unforgettable days, I travelled on an immersive small group adventure that showcased the vibrant contrasts of this fascinating country.  From the futuristic energy of Seoul and the ancient treasures of Gyeongju to the coastal charm of Busan, every destination offered a unique glimpse into South Korea’s culture, history and way of life.  

Along the way, I explored centuries-old palaces, bustling markets, traditional villages, colorful neighbourhoods, and beautiful seaside temples.  Highlights included travelling aboard Korea’s impressive high-speed rail system, visiting UNESCO World Heritage Sites, experiencing a traditional temple stay and standing at the DMZ, one of the world’s most intriguing geopolitical landmarks.

One of the things I appreciated most about travelling with G Adventures was the balance between iconic sights and authentic local experiences.  Our excellent CEO (Chief Experience Officer) handled all the logistics, allowing us to simply relax and enjoy the journey while still having free time to explore independently and discover our own favorite moments.  

As a Travel Advisor, I believe there’s no better way to truly understand a destination than to experience it firsthand.  Beyond the famous landmarks, I gained insight into the local culture, sampled incredible food, experienced the accommodations, navigated the transportation system, and enjoyed those unexpected moments that often become the most memorable part of any trip.

This tour is an excellent introduction to South Korea and one that will leave you wanting to return.  Whether your interests are culture, history, food, k-beauty, shopping or simply exploring somewhere completely different, there’s truly something for everyone. 

A moderate level of fitness is recommended, as some days involve longer walks, stairs and active sightseeing, but the rewards are well worth the effort.
